HD DVD earns more support

The format battle has just begun. Toshiba has created the first PC with readable HD DVD disc, their next-generation disc format. It will also have the capability to read and write to conventional DVD and CD discs.

Toshiba expects to launch the technology through Dell and HP in Japan early next year, this also comes with Intel, Microsoft, Sanyo and NECs support for the technology. Not many corporations want to be left in the dark with HD DVD, but Sony and Panasonic have been working up a storm with their Blu-ray technology and think they will over power everyone else.
