Sanyo introduces Xacti E6 digital camera with 3-inch LCD

A new addition has been made to Sanyo’s popular Xacti digital camera series, the ultra-thin Xacti E6.

Sanyo’s latest offering has a huge LCD display of 3-inches. With this feature, Sanyo is promising to provide the consumers a new experience in digital photography. In structural terms, the new camera has a 3x internal optical zoom lens with a focal length of 38-114mm and MPEG4 format video recording. It also boasts of an advanced Touch-Sensor which is expected to improve the reaction time of the camera by as much as 0.05 seconds. Sanyo E6 has a 1./2.5-inch CCD image sensor that clicks still images with a resolution of 6 Megapixels.

The E6 also provides various digital color scheme effects like black and white, sepia and other effects. But the entire operational process has been kept simple by doing away with manual settings like aperture or shutter speed settings. So the camera only facilitates automatic operations, a bonus for some, a draw back for others.

The camera will be first shown early next month at the IFA 2005 event in Berlin (2 – 7 September).
