Buffalo Technology Launches Advanced “Smart ” Router WHR – G54S

Buffalo Technology has come out with a new smart router called the Buffalo AirStation 125 High Speed Mode Wireless Cable/DSL Smart Router (WHR-G54S). Projected as a modified version of its successful WBR2-G54S smart router series, the new device promises to offer better performance with a simplified installation process.

The new product boasts of some innovative features like an external switch that allows you to switch from a router to a bridge instantly. Router Mode has a cable or DSL connection with multiple wired or wireless devices, while Bridge Access Point Mode quickly adds wireless access to the existing LAN. The installation process has also been simplified to a great extent since the new automatic router is capable of automatic detection and configuration of the internet connection. For the convenience of the consumers, the chassis has also been re-designed in a way that the device can be placed in both horizontal as well as vertical positions.

The company is projecting the new router as “the most valuable wireless solution available in the market today.” Says Morikazu Sano, Vice President (Product Marketing), Buffalo Technology, “We designed the WHR-G54S with our customers’ diverse needs in mind. We are offering a sophisticated feature-set which ensures that the wireless experience is as simple and seamless as possible.”

WHR- G54S is offering a connectivity speed which is 10% faster than what WBR2 – G54S versions provide. The new smart router is also 802.11g/802.11b compliant and includes Buffalo’s patent-pending ease-of-use technology, AirStation One-Touch Secure System. It also boasts of advanced security features like Wi-Fi Protected Access, Privacy Separator and Buffalo’s exclusive Intrusion Detector.

The product carries a two-year warranty tag and now is available in the market at a price of $69.
