Acoustic Energy is now selling a home Wi-Fi Internet radio player, it can stream Real Audio, WMA and MP3 music which will cost you about zero dollars per month. The system will access over 10,000 stations across the world, all while chilling in your living room, bedroom, or even while cooking it up in the kitchen.

Although it doesn’t have a real model name, other then the AE Wi-Fi radio, it’s a relief to see products coming on the market that provide content without the need of a desktop PC. Philips has many systems similar to this on the market under their target=”amazon”>Streamium brand, they lack the Real Audio support, and also require MusicMatch Juke Box software which is a real nightmere. The AE Wi-Fi radio will also access your personal library, but no details on how this is done was released, lets hope it has a better solution for sharing your media files then MusicMatch.

The system supports both 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi connections with 128-bit WEP security, HTTP protocol and runs on a Linux OS Kernel. You can pick one of these up for around US $349 (£199).
