Motorola has made their Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) client available to both Symbian Series 60 and UIQ mobile devices. This move enables operators to bring PoC services to market faster with a wider choice of devices.
PoC may very well be a standard feature that every mobile device will soon come with, the walkie-talkie style communications are great for fast connections with your friends, colleagues and even groups of people at a time.
The Motorola PoC Clients are designed specifically for operator customization. Automatic configuration allows the application to be used without the end user entering in any settings. Over-the-air installation and automatic updates are also featured.
“The Motorola PoC Clients are an important addition to Motorola’s PoC portfolio as they offer operators the opportunity to increase take-up of Push-To-X services with the widest possible range of handsets,” said Michael Krutz, vice president, core networks division, Motorola Networks. “In the coming months we plan to offer customers a series of additional features for the Symbian Client including Push-To- X services such as Push-To-View.”
