Solar Cell Phone Charging in 2 to 3 Hours with Soldius 1

A company out of the Netherlands called Soldius has developed a solar cell device that charges your mobile phone in 2 to 3 hours. The Soldius 1 uses technology called Maximum Solar Power Tracking (MSPT) to charge your device in the most efficient manner possible.

According to the website it should output around 6.58V-320mA in direct sunlight. The device is also quite small measuring in at 135 x 80 x 10mm and weighing only 85 grams. Many Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Siemens, Samsung and Motorola phones are supported, as well as most 3G/UMTS USB phones. You can visit Soldius’ web site for a full list of supported devices.

No word on pricing or availability, so cross your fingers, we REALLY want to see this product out on the market. It would be perfect for camping in remote locations or an emergency backup when your battery dies.
