Verizon Wireless launching Kyocera KX1 CDMA phone

Verizon Wireless has announced that they will be launching Kyocera’s new KX1 CDMA clamshell phone. The phone is aimed at users with a low price point in mind, but still getting all the features that you’d expect from a mid ranged phone.
The phone’s main selling points are the customizable face plates, large keypad, and external caller ID. The clamshell design has an angled, asymmetrical design with a landscape oriented external LCD screen with displays caller ID. Inside they phone features a 65K color screen, and a large keypad. The phone also incorporates TTY and TDD capabilities for the hearing impaired.
The phone will weigh in at only 3.52 ounces and measures 4.45″ x 1.89″ x .91″. As for the battery, expect to squeeze 3.5 hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby.
Expect to see the phone available soon, online and at retail stores for $39.99 with a two-year customer agreement.
