Siemens and BenQ talking about handset venture

Rumors surrounding the fate of Siemens mobile division have been floating around since last year. Now they have announced that they will be holding a meeting today regarding the future of the division. The details point to a joint venture with Taiwanese technology group BenQ.

Last year the information leaked that Siemens was looking to sell their mobile division, due to the fact that they lost over 140 million euros in the first quarter of 2004 alone not many companies were interested. Who knows what will come of this meeting or Siemens Mobile.

I for one hope that Siemens will continue to churn out nice looking phones, and continue to give us a variety of options, because variety is the spice of life!
