Altec Lansing makes some noise with the iPod inMotion iM7 Portable Speaker System

Altec Lansing has officially announced their new iPod boom box called the inMotion iM7 Portable Speaker System. The system has an iPod dock which allows you to easily hook up your iPod for some sweet portable sound.

The iM7 features two 1-inch tweeters, two 3-inch mid-range drivers, a 4-inch side-firing subwoofer and a 4-inch passive radiator. The cradle that you dock your iPod to supports all types of iPod sizes and versions including the Mini and iPod photo. The unit also includes S-Video and composite video outputs for iPod photo users to show off their pictures on a TV. Even knowing the iM7 screams iPod, you can plug in any player to the unit due to the 3.5 mm input. The only drawback is the fact that it needs eight D batteries for battery operation.

The The inMotion iM7 Portable Speaker System will be available in June at Apple stores and at www.alteclansing.com at an MSRP of $249.95.
