A group of Chemists at Glasgow University have engineered a tiny memory molecule cluster which is capable of storing large amounts of data on a surface 10,000 times thinner than a human hair. This is a great example of how nanotechnology will advance our lives in science, medicine and technology.

The amount of data capable of being stored was not revealed, but the technology has already taken three years and 100,000 pounds (US $182,240) to develop, a further 500,000 pounds (US $912,500) has been received to continue development.
