SanDisk has announced a new flash based MP3 player today named the Sansa e100 series. The new player comes in 1GB and 512MB versions and also includes a SD card slot for extra storage.

Both MP3 and WMA (Digital Rights Management protection and non-protected) will be playable on this device. Other features include high-speed USB 2.0, digital FM radio, and a multi-line backlit LCD screen that displays album, artist, and song title info. Lets not forget the battery life; SanDisk claims you should be able to get 17 continuous hours on a single AAA battery.

The Sansa e100’s is available now for a price of $139 for the 512MB and $189 for the 1GB.
