
The noise canceling technology uses a built in microphone that detects external noise from low-frequency sources (20-1500hz). Then it creates an equal and opposite sound wave to cancel that noise. Sony’s tests claim that the headset offered a 14db reduction of sound at the 300hz level.
The MDR-NC50 should retail for around $200 will be available in June with pre-orders starting soon on Sony’s SonyStyle site.
