Toshiba Expands Tecra with the M4 Convertible

Toshiba has expanded the Tecra line with their first convertible M4 notebook. The M4 is both a Tablet PC and Notebook computer running on Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005, the hinges allow it to fold-up, twist, flip and maneuver to the position you need it to be in.

Powering the M4 is an Intel Centrino 1.73GHz processor with 2MB L2 cache, 512MB PC4200 DDR2 Memory and a 60GB SATA drive with “Toshiba Hard Disk Drive Protection System”, this helps safeguard the Tecra M4’s hard drive against possible damage resulting from accidental dropping, turbulence or vibration.

The option for either the NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200 TE 64M or 6600 TE 128M graphics is available, you can even choose if you would rather have the Intel Pro Wireless 802.11b/g or 802.11a/b/g. Both wireless choices will give you the Diversity Antenna, this is where the integration of dual-band Wi-Fi antennas are placed in the notebook’s display for optimal signal strength.

The display is a 14.1-inch SXGA+ screen with 1400×1050 resolution support. An 8X DVD SuperMulti-drive, Dual layer is also packed into the $1999 price tag.
