Pentax is showing off their new digital medium-format camera at the Photo Imaging Expo (PIE) in Tokyo this week. The Pentax 645 will feature Kodak’s new extra-large CCD sensor with 18.6 megapixel resolution. The camera will also mount existing smc Pentax 645 lenses and includes an auto focus mount.
Pricing has not yet been released but expect it to bust your wallet, some medium format backs go for around $16,000. You can see the new Pentax at PIE, but you can’t touch as they are keeping it under glass.
