Well, it has been a while since Segate announced their 5GB microdrive back in June of 2003. Today they finally announced that they are set to start shipping the drives to retail stores next month. Lets hope so!

The Segate Compact Flash II compatible Microdrive will come in both 2.5GB and 5GB models. Pricing for the drives is not yet known, we will update you when we find out.

Just today Hitachi announced their new smaller drives with greater capacity (8-10GB) than the Segate drive.
