Samsung MMCmicro memory for mobile phones

Samsung has developed a memory card one third the size of RS MMC cards. The low powered MMCmicro memory card measures 12 x 14 x 1.1mm and can read at 10MB per second and write at 7MB per second. With the Samsung 5 megapixel camera phone coming soon, a 128MB MMCmicro card would be used to store about 60 photographs at the highest resolution. Transferring your images to your computer will be much quicker at 26MB per second.

Samsung will be able to stack up to five NAND flash memory chips into each of the new ultra-small MMCmicro cards, making them available in 32, 64 and 128 Mbyte sizes. Mass production of the MMCmicro will begin early in 2005.
