Samsung Electro-Mechanics is dominating the mobile handset market with development and sales. Their newest creation is a very tiny 9 x 12 x 1.4 mm W-LAN module to be used in smart phones and is about 9% the size of current W-LAN modules in PDAs.

The Wi-Fi module is only for 802.11b networks and can transfer at a maximum rate of 4.5Mbps, not 11Mbps although that is what 802.11b is rated at. It also only uses 53% of the power existing modules use.
