The palm-sized JVC Everio GZ-MC200 is the first hard-drive based camcorder ever to hit the streets. It was first unveiled back in September (Full specs and details here), and has started shipping today from Amazon.com for $1049.

The GZ-MC200 has 10X optical zoom and an internal 4GB hard drive which can hold 60 minutes of DVD-quality video (DV-AVI,Windows-AVI, MPEG-1 and MPEG-2, Windows Media Video, and RealVideo) or more than 5000 high resolution still images at 2.12 megapixels (1600 x 1200).
