LG Electronics has unveiled the world’s first terrestrial digital broadcasting cell phone this week. The Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) handset will allow people to receive satellite broadcasts to watch consumer programs.

The satellite DMB receptor chip is currently imported over seas, LG plans to manufacture their own chip by the end of 2005 and distribute it within their dual-mode DMB phones, this technology is still new and fresh, we will see a lot more about it in the next few years.
