Virgin Unveils 5GB MP3 Music Player and Boomtube

Virgin launched several new products today, one of which is an iPod Mini like device with a built-in 5GB Seagate microdrive. The Virgin Player can play MP3 and WMA tracks, FM radio and can output the audio via it’s dual headphone jacks. It uses “two-stage” up and down buttons for scrolling one song at a time or quickly flipping past hundreds of tracks at a time.

Also on the player is the Virgin DJ system, you can play tracks just loaded, top 20 and “lost & found” to listen to the tracks played the least.

To go along with your Virgin Player, Virgin also unveiled the Boomtube speakers, a $99 model is a bit slimmed down, and the $199 will give you more bass then you can handle (probably not that much, but have you heard aluminum enclosed speakers? They are sweeeeeeeeet). The speakers can twist on and off for easy portability.
