I have been waiting over six months to see the release of the Fujifilm Finepix S3 Pro, I thought it would be the next super DSLR that would impress everyone as much as the Nikon D70 did. Unfortunately it looks to be just a slight upgrade to the S2 Pro with several enhancements that just manage to keep the S3 in the game, still with only a maximum of 7 images at 2.5 fps in RAW format.

The body and grips have been ruggedized a bit more with heavier rubber, a vertical grip with shutter release is excellent for portraits. The Fujifilm SuperCCD SR II sensor was slightly modified from the original version, there is more about that on DPReview.

My Dream S3 Pro would have been a true 10 megapixel full sized sensor with X3 technology, making it around 30 megapixels, the production S3 will have a total of 12.9, we can all dream can’t we.
