Altec Lansing has spawned the inMotion iM3, a portable sound blasting device for the Apple iPod and iPod mini that will run you about $180. Available later this summer, the iM3 sports a powerful 4-watt Class D digital amplifier that generates an excellent dynamic range, it also features MaxxBass technology for increased bass response.

The unit measures 8 x 5.4 x 1.2 inches and adds a wireless remote that controls power, volume, and song navigation from across the room. Altec Lansing also added an international switchable power supply with changeable plugs for both North America and Europe.
When docking your iPod or iPod mini into the bay, users can sync files, transfer data and recharge the device. You can even disconnect the iM3 from the wall and take it with you for 24 hours of battery life.
