MCE has begun shipping an updated version of their QuickStream DV, a portable firewire harddrive that is self powered and can be mounted on the side of your camera.

One fancy added feature MCE has added is the 6 second buffer, before you even hit the record button, the camera has already saved 6 seconds prior to that moment in time, you will never miss another important moment again. This technology doesn’t come cheap, a 20 GB version that can record 1.5 hours will run you about $600 USD, the 40GB, 60GB and 80GB versions go for 729, $849, and $999, respectively.
