Available through the security channel, the new SELVA Pro, SELVA Manager and SELVA Viewer software offer three levels of functionality to provide a scalable solution that can meet a range of requirements.
“This new, feature-rich software program provides security and IP monitoring professionals with the power to monitor, record and control a multi-camera system over a network,” said Bill Lee, Sony Electronics’ general manager for security systems. “Full system controls can be accessed remotely through the Internet using a computer or select handheld devices, providing authorized personnel with key advantages during emergency situations.”
The SELVA Pro version of the software supports up to 64 independent cameras per computer and is ideal for multi-site surveillance, enabling centralized control of unlimited remote installations. This robust version of the software is fast and easy to deploy, supports IP addressable network cameras as well as analog cameras with video server adapters, and incorporates many features and benefits including:
Live video streaming with simultaneous recording and reviewing
Remote access from any location on the LAN, WAN and Internet
Built-in `real time’ video motion detection
Recording speed of up to 30 frames per second, per camera
Support for multiple display monitors
Remote Pan/Tilt/Zoom control
Offline storage of recording, with full redundancy to secure locations
Advanced motion detection with alerts sent to the administrator via cell phone or e-mail
Secure time-stamped and watermarked recordings
Automatic “hands-free” daily archiving to hard disk or tape
The SELVA Manager version of the software is a basic, entry-level solution with a user-friendly interface for managing from four to up to 16 network cameras.
According to Lee, “The application enables flexible recording modes and is ideal for small-to-medium size surveillance systems.”
The new software is compatible with security software add-ons from On-Net Surveillance Systems Inc., which can be integrated separately to meet specific advanced video surveillance requirements.
Availability
Available next month through Sony-authorized security dealers, SELVA software licenses will be available separately and will include one year of free upgrades. The SELVA Manager software will also be available pre-installed on a Network Video Recorder (VAIO PC model PCV-RS612P). The SELVA Viewer version of the software will be offered as a complimentary download for those who would like to test a pilot installation.
