Data security is always a concern among sensitive information. Kontron has launched a portable USB 2.0 aluminum hard disk drive encryptor at Computex Taipei 2004. The InfoGuardian adopts an X-Wall encrypted microchip, which is a secure, portable and convenient solution combining the power of strong encryption with unprecedented throughput to protect confidential data and credentials stored on PCs and servers. The HDD enclosure provides with 64/128/192-bit encryption strength.

The IG-2xxE series on the other hand protects data at rest. With this encryption box data gets in and out with DES (Data Encryption Standard) or TDES (Triple DES) cipher/decipher process. There is no way for unauthorized persons to access the data without the authentication key. This minimizes the stealth or transportation loss.

This InfoGuardian is compact, while supporting both 2.5″& 3.5″ drives and is equipped with IEEE 1394/USB 2.0 interface; the IEEE 1394 operates at the rate/speed up to 400 Mbps, and USB 2.0 up to 480 Mbps. No device driver is required to install on your system.
