Raising its profile in Taiwan’s crowded handset market, Alcatel yesterday launched its first clamshell camera phone that literally puts a face to a voice.
The One Touch 835 model allows users to attach a five-second video film to a number in their address books, the handset vendor said.
“When you receive a call from that number, the caller’s face will appear in motion on the screen,” the company said.
Users could also play with this “photo personalization” feature. They could use contrasting colors, or employ a “fuzzy,” “oil painting,” or “sunset” effect to spruce up those images.
