PSC today unveiled a few new rugged PDAs and most interesting the Falcon 4620 Rugged Vehicle Mount Computer. The 4620 was designed for the harshest environments of the warehouse or loading dock, it comes standard with Microsoft Windows XP operating system and an Intel 800 Mhz processor with support for up to 512MB RAM, integrated wired Ethernet and a shock resistant 20GB hard disk or a 2GB Flash disk for ultra-rugged applications.

The 12.1-inch TFT Colour screen provides 800 x 600 resolutions and touch-screen capabilities. With PSC’s radio independent support, you have a choice of 2.4Ghz 802.11b radios including Cisco Aironet, Lucent/Proxim Orinoco, and Symbol Spectrum24 HR.

Featuring an IP65 sealing rating combined with Military Specification ruggedization, the Falcon 4620 can operate in the toughest warehouse environments. The ability to operate in freezers to –30° C without an expensive and power hungry heater provides a huge advantage over the competition. An optional NEMA 4 sealed 84-key keyboard with integrated mouse provides input flexibility.
