NTT develops compact solar-powered charger for mobile devices

NTT will launch a device called “Pocket Energy” in May 2004 to consumers. The Pocket Energy will cost 190 USD and will be able to charge almost any device via its solar-cell system. NTT says it can be used with most mobile products including compact-disc players, game consoles, cameras and cellphones but not for notebook computers.

At CES 2004 Scott unveiled the solar powered eVest jacket, this has two solar panels on the back and allows you to charge your mobile electronic devices.
