If you are on the lookout for a new Toshiba PDA you may wish to hold off on your purchase. Amazon.com recently blew the lid on a Toshiba models which have yet to be announced to the public. The basic details are of two models Toshiba plans to release possibly in 4th quarter 2003.

The e405 runs on Intel Corp.’s PXA261 XScale processor at 300MHz and 64M bytes of RAM while the e805 has a PXA263 processor also at 300MHz and 128M bytes of RAM, according to Amazon.com. Prices and pictures of the PDAs were not displayed.

The Intel PXA261 and PXA263 chips are newer models of XScale processor than the PXA255 that is currently used in the four current Toshiba PDA models on sale in the U.S. In comparrison, the newer processors are not much different. Some improvements include more flash memory stacked in the chip package and a few changes to interface controls.

Additionally, Amazon.com shows both new PDAs with IrDA infrared, (SD) and SDIO interface card support and as a bonus the e805 will have a Compact Flash card slot.
