By Dave Ebner, Globe and Mail – “New technology will encourage Canadians to use the Internet and data services on mobile phones and other portable devices, the head of Bell Mobility Inc. told a conference yesterday.

”We are on the cusp of the next wave of the mobile data revolution,” said Michael Neuman, president of Bell Mobility, which is part of Canada’s largest phone company and is owned by BCE Inc.”

NHL plans to add wireless services for Bell customers such as real time scores and game stats. Future plans could be watching clips of a game on your mobile and even listening to a real time audio feed from a game.

AOL and MSN are pushing messenger services on mobile phones. Service providers charge a nice fee for wireless internet use, some end users may not want to front the bill. Personally I can wait until I get home to use my messengers rather then paying per minute to have them on the road.
