iRiver iHP-100 10 GB Portable Audio Player

Nichimen Corp of Japan and NHJ Ltd of Japan introduced a new portable audio player from Korea’s iRiver Inc, with a 10GB HDD built-in, called “iHP-100″ in Japan. The HDD is made by Toshiba Corp.

It will support three audio files; MP3, Windows Media Audio (WMA), and advanced streaming format (ASF). These can be played and recorded. The iHP-100 uses both analog/optical input/output terminals. It will also record in real time to MP3. The USB2.0 interface allows high speed data transfers. You can browse the contents of the player on the 2.3-inch STN liquid crystal panel with 160 x 128 pixels resolution.

The device uses a built-in Li-polymer rechargeable battery by Samsung SDI Co, Ltd which gives a continuous playback of 16 hours and 30 minutes. It weighs 160g, including the rechargeable battery, and measures 105mm x 60mm x 19mm.

The retail price is expected to be around 50,000 yen or $415 USD.
