Taiwan’s BenQ has introduced at CeBIT 2003, its first smart phone equipped Symbian OS. The platform used is the UIQ on Symbian OS 7,0, the same one the Sony Ericsson P800 uses.

The new telephone BenQ calls the P30 uses GSM Tri Band with support for GPRS. A 65 milion colour TFT touch screen display with a resolution of 208 x 320 pixels. Between the main functions we the video integration, you are able to take a photo at 640 x 480 pixels or record a short film, then send them via MMS or email.

The P30 is also equipped with Bluetooth, IrDA, Miniums USB, and Java support. It possesses an MPEG-4 and MP3 player for audio/video playback. The arrival of the BenQ P30 is expected for the second part of 2003, first to Taiwan and gradually in other countries in the area.
