Koutech Systems Inc. has unveiled the 7004. A PCMCIA CardBus Type II controller that features USB 2.0 and FireWire/1394 connectivity. The Plug-N-Play, Hot-Swap interface can be used on all notebooks supporting Windows 98/ME/2K/XP and Mac OS X.
It has Two 480Mbps Hi-Speed USB 2.0 ports and Two 400Mbps FireWire/IEEE 1394 ports to connect anything from digital camcorders, digital cameras, scanners, printers, external CD/DVD writers, hard disk drives, etc.
You can have 127 devices in a peer-to-peer USB 2.0 configuration, or 63 on FireWire/1394.
The package also comes with Ulead VideoStudio video editing software. Pricing and availability is still unknown.
