Sprint (NYSE: FON, PCS), which operates the largest all-digital, all-CDMA Third Generation (3G) wireless network in the United States, and AirPrime Inc., a leading provider of CDMA wireless access solutions for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) market, today announced that the PCS Connection CardTM by AirPrime (PC3200) is now available nationwide to mobile Internet users on the Sprint CDMA2000 3G1X wireless network.
The PCS Connection CardTM by AirPrime (PC3200) allows Sprint customers high-speed, always-on wireless access to the Internet, email and other personal or company information from any laptop computer that uses Windows 98/2000/ME/XP and is equipped with a PCMCIA Type II PC Card slot. This latest PCS VisionSM enabled PCS Connection Card is available at a suggested retail price of $249.99 from Sprint business channels including the PCS direct sales force, the Small Business Dealer Network, PCS Business SolutionsSM Program and online at www.sprintpcs.com.
The PCS Connection Card allows users to wirelessly connect to the Internet or access their company network using a laptop, achieving data speeds averaging 50 to 70 Kbps, with peak speeds of up to 144 Kbps. Utilizing QUALCOMM’s MSM5100 baseband chip, the PCS Connection Card by AirPrime enables users to realize the highest possible throughput in both send and receive modes for email and Internet browsing. The card also supports connectivity to company networks using an existing Virtual Private Network (VPN) remote access solution. The PCS Connection Card by AirPrime (PC3200) utilizes the PCS Connection ManagerSM Software, internally developed at Sprint, which enables the card to be upgraded to support future connectivity solutions as they become available.

The PCS Connection Card by AirPrime (PC3200) is designed for operation in the 1900 MHz PCS band and enables true bi-directional data throughput of up to 144 kbps. The card is designed to take advantage of the power management and system overhead features offered by the 32-bit CardBus electrical interface for extended battery life and is compatible with most Windows® 98SE, 2000, Me and XP operating systems. AirPrime’s PC3200 includes a patent-pending, proprietary antenna design, which maximizes data rate transfer speeds, sensitivity and increases power efficiency.

Sprint customers using a PCS Connection Card can choose a $99.99 unlimited PCS VisionSM for Laptops and PDAs Service Plan with a one-year PCS Advantage Agreement until April 20, 2003. PCS Vision for Laptops and PDAs Service Plans are also available starting at $40.00 for 20 megabytes for customers with more limited data needs. These plans do not include voice minutes.
