New Tablet PC Runs Windows XP

Tatung Co. has announced a tablet PC, the Tangy830, which is designed for Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC edition OS.

The tablet PC is built around an Intel 830MG chipset and uses an 800MHz Pentium III-M processor. It measures 275 by 223 by 21mm and weighs 1.2kg. It enables networking via a built-in 802.11b wireless LAN. In addition, the PC features 10/100Mbps Ethernet, a V.90 modem and an optional Bluetooth module for other network-connection approaches

The Tangy830 incorporates 128M PC133 SDRAM and a 20G hard disk. It has a 10.4-inch TFT-LCD panel that displays at 1,024 by 768 dots and supports touch-screen input capability. A stylus is included. A four-cell Li-ion battery pack supports about three hours of use.
