Polaroid Corporation will give style-conscious electronics lovers a new reason to embrace instant photography with the new Polaroid mio — a sleek, five-inch camera that takes instant wallet-sized snapshots.

“Consumers love instant pictures, but want smaller, lighter instant cameras,” said Terry Carlson, Polaroid vice president and general manager of North America. “Now Polaroid provides a stylish camera for adults that is small enough to take with you. The mio is portable and fun with a unique design.”

The weight of the Polaroid mio — about 12 ounces — makes it the perfect social connection tool at cocktail parties, business events and evenings on the town. Instant pictures are a perfect way to bond with friends or remember a new acquaintance. Mio instant pictures are about the size of a business card — 2 by 3.5 inches — and easily fit in a wallet.

The motorized camera has a built-in, automatic flash and provides easy, push-button focusing for near or distance photos. It features a three-element lens with a 60mm focal length and an electronic LCD readout indicating pictures remaining, and is focus free. The camera is extremely compact at 4.6 inches by 2.2 inches by 5 inches. The mio has a sleek metallic silver finish and comes with a convenient wrist strap for added portability.

The Polaroid mio instant camera and film are available today in the United States at AAFES, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Service Merchandise and Ritz Camera for a suggested retail price of $99.99. The camera uses mio instant film, which is sold in a twin pack (two single packs that contain a total of 20 photos) for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
