NTT DoCoMo Debuts Data-Card PHS with Mobile Phone Connectivity

NTT DoCoMo Inc. debuted a new CompactFlash card-type PHS, the “P-in m@ster,” on July 27.

“P-in m@ster,” featuring connectors for a mobile phone and for an earphone microphone, is a high-end model of the present “P-in Comp@ct.” The price is open, and on the market it will be priced at about $55 USD.

The new data-card PHS is capable of data transmission at 64kbps or at 32kbps. When it is connected with a PDC cellular phone using a cable, data transmission at 9.6kbps and the packet transmission at 9.6kbps or 28.8kbps will be attainable. Voice communications are also available with an earphone-microphone using a voice adapter.

The new PHS card supports Windows 95/98/2000/Me/Windows CE. With software upgrades, the Zaurus MI-E1/L1 also can use the card.

Its external measurements are 42.8mm wide x 51.2mm long x 6mm high, and it weighs 17g.
