Digital Airways said Wednesday that is shipping its Wapaka Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) microbrowser, written in Java, for Palm devices.

The microbrowser is based on Sun Microsystems’ Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) specifications, the company said. It said a version for Pocket PC handhelds will be available soon.

The microbrowser supports multiple open windows. It works with a variety of communications technologies such as GSM, Bluetooth and can easily be extended by developers to i-mode and xHTML, according to Digital Airways.
