Toshiba Introduces New Tecra 8200 Notebook PC With Integrated Wi-Fi

Toshiba introduces redesigned, lightweight Tecra® 8200 offering customers five different ways to connect via their PC. Featuring integrated Wi-Fi(TM) (802.11b) technology, Toshiba’s wireless notebook enables users to have instant high-speed access to an Ethernet network without the hassle of cords or cabling.

The Tecra 8200 Series of portable computers is ideal for medium-to-large sized businesses requiring stable, scaleable solutions that allow them to support multiple configurations throughout the enterprise with a consistent software image and compatible accessories.

The Computer Systems Group (CSG) of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. (TAIS) redesigns its award-winning Tecra Series of notebooks with the introduction of the Tecra 8200. Weighing a mere 5.5 pounds (nearly 3/4 of a pound lighter than the Tecra 8100), Toshiba’s lightweight Tecra 8200 offers integrated Wi-Fi (802.11b) technology and allows customers five different means to connect via their PC ensuring users are “Always Connected.” Whether via an integrated Ethernet LAN, a Toshiba Wi-Fi access point, modem, fast IR, or Toshiba’s optional Bluetooth(TM) PC Card, the unit offers the latest in enhanced mobile communication technologies.
