Wal-Mart could sell Razr for $88 |
|
Motorola’s Razr phone which arrested the company’s slumping sales figure last year is likely to be available on Wal-Mart store shelves at a price less than half of what other retailers are charging. According to a website report, the global retail giant will be offering these sleek handsets at a very cheap rate for $88.73 as against nearly $200 which you have to pay to other retailers presently. The offering will be a part of Black Friday electronics cavalcade which Wal-Mart has been organizing for the past two years. The icing on the cake is that the handset will be sold along with Cingular services.
Razr handsets have become a rage in the global handset market and have helped Motorola to stay in the competition against fierce rivals like Samsung. Motorola has also planned to launch a pink version of the Razr for the holiday season, but Motorola CEO Ed Zander had recently candidly admitted that the company is finding it difficult to keep up with the growing demand for their Razr phone. “My only problem is that I can't make these fast enough," he had said.
Though neither Wal-Mart nor Motorola have confirmed about the proposition of making Razr available to consumers for less than $90, analysts are not skeptical about the website report citing growing closeness between the retail and electronics giants. Recently, Wal-Mart also started offering Ojo, a popular video conferencing phone from Motorola.
